Asymmetric Sharing

چکیده
Where natural evolution has lead to a wide variety of coexisting species, evolutionary algorithms tend to end up with nearly identical individuals. Techniques known as niching aim to avoid this. However, they often depend on a threshold parameter, known as the sharing radius or niche radius. It serves as a similarity threshold. This is a critical, problem-dependent parameter. How to set it is known as the niche radius problem. Inspired by the self-adaptation of mutation parameters in evolution strategies, this paper proposes a variant of the niching technique fitness sharing, asymmetric sharing. It is an attempt at self-adaptation of the niche radius. Test runs on a variety of multimodal functions indicate asymmetric sharing has an improved ability of finding and maintaining multiple local optima as compared to standard fitness sharing, without the need of an external parameter. The algorithms presented are built and tested within the framework of evolution strategies, but could potentially be transported to a broad class of evolutionary algorithms.

Simultaneous power sharing and protection against faults for DGs in microgrid with different loads
The LVRT (Low Voltage Ride Through) is the main characteristic of every power system in faulty conditions. When fault occurs, it is essential for power system such as microgrid to control the voltage and frequency normally. Naturally in fault status, the unbalanced voltage and current are inevitable, but with the aid of LVRT technique, microgrid can keep stability in main system parameters such...
متن کاملThe Emergence of Information Sharing in Credit Markets
We examine how asymmetric information and competition in the credit market affect voluntary information sharing between lenders. We study an experimental credit market in which information sharing can help lenders to distinguish good borrowers from bad ones, because borrowers may exogenously switch locations. Lenders, however, are also engaged in spatial competition, and lose market power by sh...
متن کاملAsymmetric Cost Sharing mechanisms
We describe the construction and analysis of asymmetric Cost Sharing mechanisms, in which a variety of axioms are applied to subsets of the agents/goods. We show that the analysis can be quite subtle as apparently similar axiomatizations lead to significantly different results; in particular, combinations of symmetric mechanisms can be extremely asymmetric and biased. In addition, we characteri...
متن کاملEvolutionary Game Analysis of Knowledge Sharing in Asymmetric Upstream and Downstream Enterprises of Supply Chain
As the core of the production means of enterprises, knowledge has become the strategic resource of the supply chain. Through the knowledge sharing among the enterprises in the supply chain, the efficiency of knowledge innovation and application can be improved. In this paper, based on the state-of-the-art literature, the evolutionary game model of asymmetric upstream and downstream enterprises ...
متن کاملRevenue Sharing Contract in a Multi-Echelon Supply Chain with Fuzzy Demand and Asymmetric Information
In this paper, we consider the revenue sharing contract between supply chain actors in a multi-echelon supply chain, where the demand of the customers and retail price are fuzzy variables. The centralized decision making system and a coordinating contract, namely, the revenue sharing contract with fuzzy demand and asymmetric information are proposed. To derive the optimal solutions, the fuzzy s...
